Sharks Bay Umbi Diving Village

Sharks Bay is a unique and friendly Bedouin-style village on the outskirts of Sharm el Sheikh with its own beach, jetty and dive centre offering daily boat trips and live-aboards.

This hotel offers traditional Bedouin hospitality and is the ideal place to stay if you want to escape the crowds and commercialism in Naama Bay.

Indepth has been running trips to Sharks Bay for 8 years and each year we look forward to returning to our Bedouin friends.

Accommodation

Sharks Bay offers three types of accommodation each with stunning views of Tiran Island.

The newest rooms are in the Bediouin Village, built on the side of the cliff with wonderful sea views. All the rooms have private bathrooms, air-conditioning, fridges, a television and phone and most have a private balcony.

The Beach Cabins are wooden cabins directly on the beach with private bathrooms, air-conditioning and a fridge!

There are also View Huts at the top of the cliff offering a budget option. These are made of bamboo with a fan and have shared showers and toilets.

Diving at Sharks Bay

The dive centre offers daily boat diving to Tiran and Ras Mohammed as well as mini-safaris and full liveaboards to sites further afield such as the Thistlegorm, Dunraven and the wrecks of Abu Nuhas.

Adel Emara heads the dive team and is the longest serving dive guide in the Red Sea. His experience and enthusiasm ensures that your diving is safe and memorable.

Sharks Bay is in the enviable position of having its own jetty off the beach so their fleet of boats can reach Tiran before the other daily boats arrive.
