Want to know about how your dive gear works? Then the PADI Equipment Specialist course is for you. This course familiarizes you with the operation and maintenance of your dive equipment. The more you know about how your gear works, the more comfortable you are with it, the more performance you get from it and the better you can care for it.
What form will the course take?
This course is designed to be an introduction to new types of equipment and to familiarize divers with the operation and maintenance of equipment.
•Reviews the theory, principles and operation of dive equipment
•Routine, recommended care and maintenance procedures, and equipment storage
•Common problems with equipment and recommended professional maintenance procedures
•Simple suggestions for comfortable equipment configurations and an introduction to new gear
•The PADI Equipment Specialist Course is not an equipment repair course, but it provides the foundation you’ll want if you’re interested in learning equipment repair
•Certification counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
The Course Schedule
The course is a non diving course and consists of a couple of knowledge development sessions. Please check with an Instructor at In Depth Diving for the next scheduled course dates.
What qualifications do I need?
You must be a PADI Open Water Diver or PADI Junior Open Water (or hold a qualifying certification from another training organization) and at least 10 years old.
Course Fee
The course costs £100 and includes tuition fees. You need to buy the Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving for this course at a cost of £39.95. No dives are required, so you can take the Equipment Specialist course any time of the year
On completion of the course, there is an additional certification fee due to PADI of £25.

A deposit of £50 will be required and you will also be asked to sign a Medical Statement, a Standard Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding and an Express Assumption of Risk form prior to the start of your course.
